They met co-coaching a basketball team in which their kids participated and became fast friends. As the sun set on Ebey’s bluff, Rob told us how he and Robyn used to walk the same path before their started dating, sharing stories of from their lives and talking about the challenges of being single parents. Now, they look out over the same vista, holding hands, and I can tell that he feels like the luckiest man in the world. Robyn faces the field where they’ll get married, above the Puget Sound and opposite the Olympic Mountain Range, and tells us of their plans to combine their two families into one big cabal of nine, Brady-bunch style. She is beaming and beautiful, more excited than her daughter who has just come from prom the night before.
We are so lucky to be photographing this special celebration in less than a month’s time. With so many kids in the mix, it won’t just be a wedding of two souls, but the evolution of a whole family. Enjoy this little selection of photographs from our trip to Whidbey Island where Rob and Robyn live, love, and will be wed!
