All right! Now that things are slowing down for this season (and likely through the next), I can bombard you with a backlog of pictures on the blog. Starting with Kelly and Oscar!!
These two are and well and wed now, as of late this past summer, but we’d best begin at the beginning — with their engagement. Early in their relationship, Kelly and Oscar spent many a summer evening enjoying a glass of rich red wine on the prow of Kelly’s parents’ boat, a wooden Cris Craft full of charm. It was on one of these boat outings that Oscar proposed, and so it was only fitting that we spend some time with their family vessel to commemorate the occasion.
But first, before we boated, we met for a cocktail at the indelible Toulouse Petit Cajun restaurant on Queen Anne, where colorful Mardi Gras decorations adorned the walls. Then full of laughter and sated with fruity beverages, we roamed the Center for Wooden Boats near the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) on South Lake Union and admired the beautiful, lovingly cared-for wooden watercraft. Isn’t their family boat a lovely work of art? Thank you, Kelly and Oscar, for sharing your love and your sense of humor with us. We’re glad to know you!
Enjoy this cheerful snapshot of a wonderful couple, and Happy Holidays to you!
