Randy and Sharon, lucky in love, were also lucky on their wedding day. Their venue, Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort, was threatened by some very bad wildfires in the Wenatchee/Leavenworth area and they thought they might have to relocate. But just a few days before their wedding, the skies cleared suddenly of smoke, and they were married in the awesome and beautiful Washington landscape that is such an important part of their love story.
These two wilderness lovers met as University of Washington graduate students on the Jewish holiday of Tu B’shevat, also called the New Year of the Trees — a fitting and auspicious start to their relationship. They remain united by an enthusiasm for outdoor recreation; their Jewish faith; a commitment to living a healthy, environmentally conscious lifestyle; a deep appreciation for their friends and families; a love of good food and wine; and an enjoyment of travel. They give each other balance, too: Sharon says that Randy reminds her to live on the lighter side and she reminds him not to sweat the small stuff. All of this was apparent on their wedding day, a beautiful celebration of everything they hold dear: the view was stunning as they were wed under the chuppa at sunset, the venue (and vendors) all eco-friendly, the food was beyond fabulous, and their friends and family glowed with happiness.
[By the way… wonder why the mountain is called “Sleeping Lady”? See if you can spot her profile on their invitations, on the resort signage, and in the landscape on the photos above and below!]
Congratulations again on a wonderful wedding day and a blessed relationship, Randy and Sharon!
