Caitlin and Nate share a neighborhood (and an alma mater) with me, so I was really excited to do their engagement session in the place we call home– the Wallingford/Fremont divide. We ventured down to Gas Works Park for the first half of our session, while we waited for Justin to join us. Then, we took the dramatic photos you see below of Lake Union and the Tuesday Duck Dodge from the top of Kite Hill with Justin acting as the voice-activated lightstand for my off-camera flash. Such a cool effect we rarely use in daylight!
We wrapped up our shoot with a walk along the Ship Canal and Fremont bridge and a visit to the famous Fremont Troll– hitting almost all my favorite landmarks in the 1-mile radius of our homes.
Caitlin and Nate’s wedding is coming right up, on the weekend of the summer solstice, which is also the day of the Solstice Parade and Fremont Fair. Their wedding guests will have PLENTY to do, that’s for sure! We’re hoping for a beautiful first day of summer (and first day of marriage!) at the Great Hall on Green Lake with them. Congrats, Caitlin and Nate– we can’t wait to be there to celebrate with you!
