Rob and Robyn are no strangers to love. They’ve both been married before, and have an adorable cohort of seven kids between the two of them. But when they met co-coaching the boys’ basketball team their sons played on, they knew that this would be something special. Seeing the way Rob looks at Robyn, you can tell that he adores her with an intense, unrelenting love. That strength makes him the perfect rock for Robyn, who loves him back just as much. Together, they’ll be the perfect parents for their “Myers-Wynn bunch.”
Before they started dating, Robyn and Rob used to take long walks at Ebey’s Landing near Camp Casey, where Robyn lived. By Rob’s account, this is where he fell in love with Robyn, and so they were wed on the bluff at Ebey’s landing in an intimate ceremony officiated by their friend and local pastor, Todd King. Robyn’s daughter led the processional up the bluff pathway, scattering flower petals, all the way to the grassy meadow where they shared their vows in front of their closest friends and family. Watching the formation of their new family bond, especially the emotion on the faces of Robyn and Rob’s children, was so very powerful.
Their wedding was a celebration of community and the island culture of Whidbey. It seems like all of Coupeville came together to support and celebrate with Rob and Robyn at their big reception at Crockett Barn. Compared to their intimate ceremony of 30 or so people, it was a big, big party… probably more than 250 guests crammed into the barn for a fabulous locally sourced hamburger(!!) dinner (complete with root beer floats!!), a hilarious flip-book photo booth, and tons of dancing to live music. I’ve been to a lot of kid-free weddings, and weddings with plenty of young kids, but this was the first where I’ve seen more than 20 teenagers in one place and having a dance-off. It. Was. Epic.
Robyn and Rob, we are so proud to have been there to witness your commitment to each other and the joining of your two families. Thank you again for trusting us to document your wedding day… it was an honor and our pleasure. We hope to know you and your kids for years to come. Congratulations again!
