Like so many of our good friends, Karen and Chris are part of a Seattle institution– they’re Microsofties. They both work for the software giant, albeit in different departments, and they were sent to us by another friend and Microsoftie through the Microsoft photograph list. You’ve seen their Seattle Center engagement session and their beautiful engagement Heirloom Album, and now it’s time for us to share their wedding photos!
These two are so sweet, and their wedding was a reflection of that sweetness. Family and friends gathered at Clise Mansion in Redmond to help Karen and Chris get ready in the morning, and guided them into the Rolls Royce to make the journey to their long-time church, Holy Family Kirkland, where Karen donned an amazing, impossibly long veil to honor her Filipino heritage. They were wed in a beautiful, traditional Roman Catholic Mass and sealed their vows under lovely stained-glass windows. Afterwards, we took a quick road trip in the Royce through the Microsoft campus so they could make their first trip back to the office as husband and wife on their own terms. Then it was back to Clise mansion for portraits on the lawn with the windmill. Despite all our weather worries, it was a perfect, sunny afternoon and an amazing day for a wedding.
I love the gentle tenderness apparent between Karen and Chris in all their photographs, and the love and joy shared in celebration by their family and friends. I love the candid reactions to their wedding toasts that were taken by Justin. Their wedding was quite the party…as evidenced by the jam session of the inflatable-instrument band and “fist bump” baby. If their wedding day was a reflection of how they live their lives, I can honestly say that their marriage will be filled with joy, laughter, and life. Cheers to you two!
