The first time we sat down with Erica and Eric, I remarked to Justin that meeting them was like getting together with old college friends. After the weekend we spent together photographing their engagement portraits and bar hopping, that feeling was even more cemented. Sadly, they’re from the Tri-Cities area, so we only get to see them every so often, but we couldn’t be more excited for their wedding this October at the BalMar in Old Town Ballard.
For their engagement photographs, we first visited the Belltown fire station. When we arrived, the fire department was just returning a fire engine to its corral in the station, and we were delighted to be able to take some pictures with it. It wasn’t until later when Justin and I were looking at the photos that we noticed the engine just happened to be Engine No. 2, with the plate “E2” to match Erica & Eric’s double-E handle!
After a quick Rainier Beer at the Two Bells Bar & Grill across the street from the station, we headed to the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Ballard for the second half of their engagement session. There, we were treated to a gorgeous sunset on the water on what has to be one of the most beautiful evenings so far this year. We even saw an otter! (Well, Justin did… I was too slow.)
Finally, we invited Erica & Eric to spend a few quiet moments in the gardens near the locks, which resulted in some of the loveliest photos we’ve taken so far. Erica is super stunning (especially with that fiery fuchsia hair!) and Eric truly is her “silver fox.”
Thanks for trusting us with your photography, guys! We always have a great time when you’re in town, and we can’t wait for the next adventure. See you soon!
Christen - I love the sideways looks she’s giving him. Great shoot!
